Security Officer - SecurityFull Time Day Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Baptist Health Hardin. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to maintain a safe and secure environment within the healthcare facility. You will conduct regular patrols, monitor surveillance systems, respond to emergencies, facilitate conflict resolution, document security incidents, and provide assistance to patients and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Observes and reports all out-of-the ordinary activity in and around the hospital and grounds.
Respond to security and safety related emergencies.
Dispatch security officers.
Conducts investigations and completes departmental reports.
Provides security escorts as required.
Provide parking lot surveillance, traffic control and other duties as assigned.
Exemplifies excellent customer service skills toward patients, families, visitors, volunteers, vendors, physicians and co-workers.
Contribute positively to teamwork and harmonious working relationships with others. May deal with patients and customers in all age categories from infant to geriatric.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Valid Kentucky driver's license with satisfactory driving record – as defined by BHH policy - is required.
Must possess a BLS certification within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training, required 30 days of hire and maintained annually.
Crisis Situation Management (CSM) preferred, required 90 days of hire and maintained annually.
Hazardous Materials first receiver certification required 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
Must be able to pass the Taser X26P course 6 months and maintain certification.
Must be able to pass Handcuff training course 6 months and maintain certification.
Good organizational, oral and written communication skills are required.
Basic computer skills required.
Ability to work well with others with minimum supervision and present a professional appearance required.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 1 year security experience preferred.
IAHSS Basic certification preferred.
