Security Officer - Security (FT)

The Security Officer is responsible for keeping a safe and secure environment. The Security Officer protects life and property of facility patients, visitors and staff. The Security Officer patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, thefts and vandalism. Secures, unlock and protects hospital buildings. The Security Officer responds to the security needs of patients, visitors and staff; provides immediate intervention in any situation posing a substantial threat to the life and safety of any individual on or in property owned or controlled by the facility.
**Education / License / Certification:**
+ Certification for Unarmed Security Officer in the State of TN, must obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain
+ Valid driver’s license; acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
+ BLS/CPR required within 90 days of employment and maintain
+ CPI Certification required within 90 days of employment and maintain
+ Some college/technical school with courses in law enforcement preferred
**Experience / Skills:**
+ Officer experience with a security company or law enforcement agency
+ Must be able to work in conditions, which might place him/her in a position of personal danger;
+ Must be able to walk, stand or run in all types of weather, up and down stairs, etc.;
+ Must have the temperament to maintain a state of calmness in the face of adversity and danger.
