Provides administrative oversight of the facility operations. Supervises the activities of the security team assigned to preserve peace, prevent and detect crime, protect persons and property. Responds to imminent threats to life or safety. • Oversees the staffing functions and programs at assigned facilities. • Acts as on-site Supervisor of the department for Sovah Health – Danville. Exercises direct supervision of line officers. • Verifies payroll time sheets for the security staff assigned shifts and locations. • Assists in the preparation and implementation of annual budget reports and keeping within Sovah Health financial parameters. • Assists in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures to help ensure departmental compliance with organizational goals, applicable federal, state, and local ordinances, and regulatory agency standards. • Evaluates all assigned Sovah Health properties assessing risk, based on internal and external activity. Reports security audits with recommendations to assigned facility administrators. • Supervises deployment of Sovah Health Security resources ensuring that a reasonable standard of care is maintained. • Keeps well informed of industry best practices and current trends within the security profession, including familiarity with applicable law and Human Resources policies and procedures. • Maintains excellent communication with assigned facilities administration. • Performs proactive monitoring of and timely response to potentially/actual security threats. • Investigates and supervises all security incidents and hazards on the premises. • Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. • Assists in facilitating planned drills and simulations. • Conducts designated safety/security rounds. • Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premise. • Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift. • Floats between staff to assist with problem solving. • Responds to complaints, codes, safety and security issues, and manages through established channels. • Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care. • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree preferred. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly, in both oral and written form Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of security coverage to the patients, staff, visitors of Sovah Health Danville. Required Skills Certifications: Healthcare Provider (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required within 60 days from date of hire. Handle with Care Training required within 30 days of hire Successful completion of handcuff training is required within 60 days of hire IAHSS Security Officers Basic, Advanced, and Supervisory Certification required within 2 years of hire Required Skills Licenses: Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Minimum Work Experience Must have completed training equivalent to or have a minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience in a related field. Previous security, military, law enforcement experience or minimum of 3 years in related field.
