Security Operations Center Officer (Elkridge/Day Shift)

Oversee the daily security operations at both hospital campuses, using best practices to identify, analyze, and support effective responses to all incidents impactful to the hospitals, their operations, and the patients, visitors, and staff at these locations. These incidents most commonly include responses to behavioral and medical crises, safety incidents, natural disasters, and other security-related emergencies.

 

Responsibilities:

Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information. Monitor closed circuit television systems and alarms. Monitor and operates facility computers systems regularly, as assigned. Communicate effectively with the security and safety teams at the facility to assure business continuity. Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance. Manage security issues or emergency situations according to policies and procedures. Facilitate communications and coordinate actions between various local emergency services such as Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services. Uses radio, phone, or computer to assist with the dispatch of officers, vehicles, or other field units to appropriate locations. Maintain awareness of and familiarity with the site-specific operations performance manual and post orders. Provide officers with information from 3rd parties about code calls, calls for service, obstacles, and any conditions impacting the safety of officers. Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other incident related information. Maintain working knowledge of departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

 

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Exceptional customer service skills. Knowledge of procedures and guidelines for emergency situations Due to the demands of the position, must be able to work either day, afternoon, evening and overnights as needed. May require occasional travel between SP properties when needed. All candidates must be willing and able to respond to critical incidents with little or no advance notice.  These incidents may include working more weekends and holidays and under stressful and physically demanding conditions.
