Security Operations Engineer

About the Role: Security Operations Engineers are responsible for security operations including managing security tools around malware protection, vulnerability management, log correlation and more. They maintain rulesets, operate the tools and are responsible for follow-up on findings. They will perform monitoring of security events in a SIEM-system and perform escalation to incidents and manage those. Key Responsibilities: Monitor vulnerabilities, overseeing the vulnerability scanning program and its follow-up Provide practical recommendations to address identified flaws, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations to mitigate cyber risks effectively Security monitoring through alert investigations and threat hunting Be part of the incident response team Manage the endpoint protection and response solution and detection engineering Collaborate closely with IT staff in various business units Develop innovative solutions related to threat intelligence, vulnerability management, security monitoring, log correlation, and security metrics Stay updated with the latest developments in IT security, new threats, and vulnerabilities, continuously evolving the security strategy to address emerging challenges Be part of the cyber security team on-call rotation Key Skills and Qualifications: 2-5 years of relevant security operations experience, including working with SIEM tools, cyber threats mitigation, incident response, and IT forensic investigation Proficiency in security testing of networks, systems, and applications University or college degree in a relevant field Fluent in English Experience in Cybersecurity transformation involving multiple teams and stakeholders Good understanding of typical attacker tactics and techniques Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and associated technologies, including operating systems, cloud solutions, network technologies, and security tools Sense of responsibility with a curious and eager-to-learn mindset. Structured and organized approach to work Interest and ability to work across the entire IT-security lifecycle, from Assessment to Design, Implementation, and Maintenance Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision Security certifications are considered advantageous About OSTTRA Candidates should note that OSTTRA is an independent firm, jointly owned by S&P Global and CME Group.
