CoWorx Staffing is excited to partner with a top-tier company seeking a skilled Security Specialist with solid alarm system and IT experience. This is a direct hire opportunity on a dedicated security and facilities team where your technical skills will make a real impact.
Responsibilities:
Install card readers, sensors, door hardware, and control boards for electronic access control systems
Install cameras on both interior and exterior of the facility
Maintain and update camera software, firmware, and server applications
Perform preventative maintenance on electronic hardware and software systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic access, camera systems, intrusion, and fire alarms
Use access control software and mobile apps for programming, monitoring, and reporting
Coordinate with management, vendors, and contractors on budgets, timelines, and project goals
Plan and manage long-term security system projects
Assist with infrastructure upgrades and document updates to facility drawings
Coordinate wiring and cabling efforts with Facilities and IT during construction/renovations
Update all existing security system documentation with the Maintenance Department
Transfer and maintain records and system data in Confluence for company-wide access
Maintain detailed records of all security-related equipment
Develop and maintain security policies and access control procedures
Create safety and security plans for employees, visitors, and customers
Ensure campus accessibility for maintenance purposes
Participate in safety drills and support door access procedures
Conduct audits and inspections to identify and resolve system vulnerabilities
Stay up to date on security industry trends and best practices
Respond to emergency calls after hours as needed
Coordinate with law enforcement in emergencies regarding access and surveillance footage
Desired Background/Skills:
Minimum of five years of experience in the Information Technology field
In-depth knowledge of IP cameras, access control, and alarm system maintenance
Advanced understanding of IP-based networking and device configuration
Experience with low-voltage cabling and cable management best practices
Ability to terminate and test Ethernet and other low-voltage wiring
Basic system programming skills
Ability to read and work with blueprints and as-built documentation
Strong knowledge of tools, methods, and equipment used in installation and maintenance
Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, and vendors
Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision
Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 lbs and work at heights of 15 to 25 feet
Flexibility to work overtime and travel overnight as needed
