Security Specialist
Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist with U.S. Fleet Cyber Command Headquarters Special Security Officer (SSO), responsible for the operation (e.g. security, control, use) of all command Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and evaluating and executing Personnel Security, Information Security, and Access Management functions for U.S. Fleet Cyber Command (FCC)/C10F and its world-wide subordinate activities. This position is located in Fort Meade, MD. Responsibilities You will represent the activity on committees and working groups in the development and implementation of security policy, plans, and programs. You will serve as a Program Manager for the domain Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) helpdesk, which serves 54 active duty, civilian, and Reserve commands. You will advise and coordinate with management on personnel re-investigation requirements, continuous evaluation, derogatory case tracking, incident reporting, and related matters to ensure required actions are taken. You will conduct pre-publication classification reviews for command documents, slides for the daily Chief Naval Operations brief, educational papers going to publication, intelligence briefs, and pamphlets from Public Affairs Office for publication. You will create, manage, monitor, and terminate user accounts, reports on system and user status, and assign cases to approvers for processing using guidance from DUSN Personnel Security Staff, OPM, SSO Navy, and NP2 Portal Administrators, Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Applying unique security requirements, policies, and procedures to various intelligence community security programs to include Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) of the DOD, DON, and NSA in accordance with organizational standards; 2) Coordinating with DOD, OPM, NSA, multiple agencies within the IC community, Pentagon, SSO Navy, and Senate/Congress visitor access centers to exchange security information and resolve related issues that arise; 3) Conducting SCI personnel in/out processing, badging request processing, program indoctrinations, individual and annual security training, records management, JPAS updates, visit certifications, and foreign travel approval and tracking, handling personnel security records with the highest degree of discretion; 4) Identifying and making recommendations for changes to eliminate improper or damaging disclosure of sensitive information in accordance with guidance from Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy (DUSN) Rankin program manager and staff, U.S. Cyber Command's classification office, and NSA's classification office.
