The Importance of the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Security, the Security Specialist II will have responsibility for the day-to-day functions of Security Operations at Sarepta’s Ohio location. The Security Specialist II will work with the Senior Manager, Security, to drive the company’s security objectives. This individual will provide support for the daily operations of the security program, as well as off-site events.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

Regular on-site presence at Sarepta’s Columbus, OH site is requiredExercise a proactive approach to overall site security and related procedures to provide physical protection for personnel and company property, day-to-day damage, vandalism, loss prevention and other related security risk programs and meets required codes and regulationsIssue access and print badges for all new employees and as requested for all sites following existing protocolsCompile data, produce and interpret reports using security systems and investigation techniques to support internal investigations and as needed and requested following existing protocolsDirect oversight of on-site contracted Security guard staff and mentor as neededReviews all security reports, audits and other documents for quality and accuracyTake appropriate action when notified of any security related incidents or concernsMonitor and respond to afterhours security issues and alarms using clear communication, sound decision making and while following existing proceduresMonitor risk intelligence database and send emergency notifications as necessaryPerform a variety of security related administrative functions to include auditing badges and access permissionsConduct routine assessments of all sites in assigned region and bring any concerns to the attention of the Senior Security managerOther duties as assigned

More about You

Requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent certificates in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Business, Psychology, Emergency Preparedness or other Security related field.Minimum of 6 years experience working in corporate security; other equivalent work experience will be considered.  Candidates with military and/or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.  Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will be considered with 4+ years of experience.Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws.Demonstrated experience in the core areas of physical security, conflict de-escalation and sound decision making required.Past managerial experience is strongly preferred.Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required.Ability to function in high-stress situations and exercise sound critical decision making.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate required.Current certification in first aid, CPR and AED, or ability to obtain such prior to starting.Experience in project management, risk mitigation, emergency response, incident command and other safety/security programs preferred.Must be self-motivated, well organized, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels of the organization and with external contacts; must be proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, and internet and email tools.

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States.

The targeted salary range for this position is $72,400 - $90,500 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
