Security Specialist/Manager

Overview:


Analyzes, plans, advises, operates, or evaluates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

Primary Responsibilities: Exercising primary responsibility for a physical security program, conducting intrusion and physical security surveys and completing site-specific vulnerability assessments.  Managing program planning, program evaluation, identifying and resolving security related issues, and advising organizational leadership on appropriate physical security and AT/FP measures.  Supervising the day-to-day activities of a medium sized guard force, including scheduling, training, briefing, application of resources and quality control.   Interpret and apply various DoD, DLA, service and local policies and procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory guidance.  Supervisory Responsibilities:


There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required Experience shall include a minimum of three (3) years of Physical Security and Antiterrorism/Force Protection management within the past five (5) years.  Must have completed the Antiterrorism Office Level II (ATO Level II) course within the last 3 years and have attained a DoD affiliated Physical Security training program at the time of appointment.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: DLA experience is a plus Must have experience drafting business correspondence and written communication. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are required.  Must have experience in following policies and procedures Must be accurate and have good analytical skills. Must have the ability to organize and coordinate workload to meet deadlines.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.  Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
