Security Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Job Description

Security Supervisor must show good judgement and common sense, be able to follow directions and directives from Director of Operations, accurately recount situations which they witnessed, and follow company policy and guidelines. Supervisor should have a professional appearance and be able to interact with the public. Supervisor must have excellent verbal and written abilities to document violations or suspicious behavior. Supervisor must be able to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other dangerous incidents. Patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activity. Monitor entrances and exits of hotel and adjacent office complexes, greet and assist guests, visitors, and tenants as needed. Lock and unlock doors including manual overhead garage doors and large access gates as required. Observe and report violations of hotel policy and law on the property, and deter criminal activity or other problems through visual presence and intervention.

Support the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards. Act as ranking supervisor in absence of director. Perform all duties as patrol or supervisor. Follows up on investigation of claims of loss, incidents, or injury/illness. Enter dead bolted or secured rooms when necessary. Assigns activities of patrol officers. Performs key audits in Housekeeping. Performs fire safety inspections and classes and responds to emergency situations. Assists in scheduling work, approving vacation time, and managing overtime.

Competencies

Ability to give full attention to what others are saying. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to use logic and reasoning and be able to follow directions and directives from supervisors. Ability to accurately recount situations which were witnessed and follow company policy and guidelines. Ability to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other dangerous incidents. Detail oriented.

Education & Experience

BS/BA Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience preferred. 5+ years of experience in security related field required. Supervisory lead role experience preferred. Certified in CPR and First aid. Certification in security preferred.

Work Environment

Individual can expect to work within a hotel setting interacting with employees, guests, deliveries, etc.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Requires finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking repetitive motion, hearing and visual acuity, and may on occasion be required to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with expectation to work necessary business hours to ensure business needs are met during the operation of the Security Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervisory responsibility of security patrol and entry guards.
