Security Supervisor - S

POSITION SUMMARY  

The position is responsible for overseeing the activities of the security shift which provides safety and protects all patrons, employees, and company assets.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to:  

Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine.

Fun – Have fun! Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards.  

Ensure the safety and security of all employees and customers. Supervise programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries.  

Review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.  

Development of staff, evaluating, and training.  

Investigating incidents and/or customer complaints and compiling data for accurate reporting.  

Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed and monitored during the shift.  

Review departmental activities with the Security management team.  

Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.  

Assist in managing program to deny underage people access to gaming areas.  

Achieve departmental and individual performance goals and duties in a timely manner  

Assists and advises other departments and company personnel, as necessary to assure the success of the Security Department and the company overall.  

Provide various oral and written reports to the Security management team.  

Other duties as assigned. 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS  

The position is responsible to the Security Shift Manager and Security Manager for successful performance of assigned duties and reports, both oral and written. This position is also responsible for the supervision and performance of the Security Officers, EMTs, and EMRs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

 

Physical demands associated with the position including, but not limited to, the following: 

 

Climbing and reaching  

Lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance  

Pulling and carrying  

 

Performance of work provides intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.  

Office environment. 

Casino environment exposed to all temperatures, dust, fumes, bright lights, and smoke with above average noise levels.  

Casino environment may include boat and/or floating barge. Travel by car with occasional travel by plane.  

High rise hotel and atrium.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data, casino policies, security activities, and projects. 

Management abilities demonstrated in managing security operational effectiveness.

Willingness to assume responsibility relative to the performance of the shift.  

Ability to effectively manage a staff.  

Ability to be accurate in completing assigned duties, paperwork, and reports.

Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.  

Ability to solve complex problems.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING 

 

Two to five years’ experience as a security guard or law enforcement agent with a 2 year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS  

 

Valid gaming license and Alcohol Beverage Control Card. Ability to obtain and hold a Responsible Vendor card. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company requirements relative to the operation of automobiles, electric, or gas powered carts, electric or gas powered sweeper equipment, and man lifts. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain any licenses, permits, insurance or indemnification necessary for the completion of duties and responsibility associated with this position; or for the protection of company assets, employee’s or patrons.
