SEL University Lead Editor

We’re looking for a technical editor to join our SEL University team, which trains power system engineers, technicians, and managers to meet their immediate and long-term workforce training needs. Our experienced instructors and instructional designers create courses that cover topics ranging from fundamental power system principles to hands-on SEL product application and testing. 

As an editor, you will work closely with instructional designers to produce courses that are technically accurate with content that flows well and meets our style. You will also collaborate with video producers, graphic designers, writers, and others to develop a wide variety of content, from webpages and news stories to posters, flyers, and videos. The content you work on directly supports SEL education initiatives related to the electronic devices we manufacture, which play a critical role in ensuring power system safety and reliability.

As a SEL University Lead Editor, a typical day might include the following:

Copyediting or proofreading an eLearning course, presentation, webpage, or email to meet grammar, punctuation, and company style standards.Collaborating with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and writers to ensure content is accurate and clear.Rewriting content to align with SEL tone and voice, brand philosophy, and goals.Collaborating with other editors to meet deadlines and ensure consistency across projects.Designing technical diagrams with vector graphics software as needed.

This job might be for you if:

You have a degree in English, technical communications, or a related area.You have advanced proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills.You have work experience as a technical editor, a copyeditor, or a similar role that involves writing or editing technical content.You have the ability to work under limited supervision in high-pressure situations and recognize the criticality of meeting stringent deadlines.

Pay Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as an SEL University Lead Editor, $58,200–$91,200. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience, and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
