Seller Engagement Manager
Support Center - Irving

The Seller Engagement Manager is part of a larger Digital and Omni channel platform and will be responsible for leading engagement with new and existing Sellers on MakerPlace. Responsibilities include identifying MakerPlace Sellers who may want to buy materials and supplies from Michaels, creating processes and best practices for engaging with these Sellers, building and leading a sales pipeline of “B2B” buyers, and working with leadership to build and improve the Seller Engagement program. A self-starter, you will work closely with the Seller Acquisition team and Growth Director while being the first person on the team fully focused on Engagement.

We are developing a world-class 3rd Party Marketplace for Makers to learn, grow, connect, and sell their handmade finished goods and services. This effort, alongside a significantly enhanced site experience and B2B Marketplace, will deliver a full transformation of the digital ecosystem for the company.

Major Activities

Premium Seller Plan Maximization

Strategize and develop the process to maximize scaled seller plan adoption for MakerPlace’s premium planIdentify, drive, and refine effective value propositions across email (campaigns and 1:1) and other communication channels for tens of thousands of sellersOwn and lead KPIs for incremental componentry in the MakerPlace P&L

B2B Lead Generation

Working with the Seller Acquisition team, identify which Sellers would be ideal targets for B2B sellingStrategize, prioritize, and lead closing with the most impactful Seller segmentsUse Salesforce to gather and analyze data

B2B Account Creation

Identify, drive, and refine effective value propositions across email (campaigns and 1:1), phone, and video callsOwn, develop, and groom a B2B sales pipeline in Salesforce, setting and hitting targets for each stage of the funnelCreate Enterprise accounts for B2B accounts to reach “closed won”Negotiate and approve pricing with new B2B accountsBuild automation into your workflows to work as effectively as possible

B2B Account Management

After creating B2B accounts, engage with accounts to understand the B2B mindset, where else they are shopping, and how to winWork with the Enterprise team to adjust pricing, create new Pro Packs, and other pricing and packaging activitiesIdentify areas to improve assortment, whether 1P or 3PMeet or exceed quota for componentry salesHelp build a seamless process as we grow the team

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field; or equivalent experienceMBA preferred or commensurate work experience

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and ExcelProficient in Salesforce

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

4-7+ years of professional non-internship experience in tech / e-commerce business or sales developmentExperience in pulling data and ability to use data to drive decision-makingExperience and passion for building ground up, nascent business models/functions/products/servicesExpertise in defining and driving business development, and product/program management frameworks & methodologiesCustomer-obsessed with high-quality standards for delivering a differentiated customer experienceExcellent attention to detail, oral and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsDesire and ability to thrive in ambiguity as part of a startup business
