**SEMCO - Business Services Analyst**
SEMCO Energy is seeking a **Business Services Analyst** for our Business Services team! Reporting to the Manager, Business Services & Analytics, the Business Services Analyst is responsible for tasks such as maintaining departmental budgets, developing business reporting, performing analytical reviews, and providing data analysis to internal and external departments to support operational objectives.

**You Will:**
+ Participate in departmental planning and the monthly reporting process by collecting and monitoring actual performance data against prepared forecasts.
+ Participate in the preparation of external reports submitted to the MPSC as well as other governmental agencies.
+ Perform data analysis to support financial and operational objectives throughout the Company. Analytical requirements include but are not limited to, conducting trend analyses, data validation, and identifying solutions to business process gaps.
+ Develop reporting using Cognos Analytics tools to meet Business Support Services’ requirements.
+ Manage departmental and Company projects within time and budget guidelines, including conducting research, preparing and presenting materials, developing recommendations, project implementation, monitoring, and revising as necessary.
+ Adhere to company internal control procedures and business processes to ensure SOX compliance.
+ Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments to uphold responsibilities as subject matter expert.
+ Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Maintain a safe environment through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.
+ Adhere to Company policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of Company assets, and all applicable state and federal laws.
**You Bring:**
+ Bachelor's degree in business or 4+ years’ relevant experience considered instead of a degree
+ 2+ years of analyst experience or an equivalent combination of education and qualifying experience required
+ Ability to research problems independently and propose business solutions.
+ Proven organizational and analytical skills to analyze processes, make recommendations, monitor the department's effectiveness, and provide future direction and guidance.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively manage several relationships and situations.
+ Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be able to provide change-management leadership that will effect change to support the business strategy.
+ Working knowledge of various business software applications presently used by the Company. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Cognos Analytics preferred.
In addition to our competitive benefits package, the estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 to $89,000, depending on experience and education.
