Short Description:
The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team. Seeks a Microsoft .NET Programmer to help develop several projects.
Complete Description:
The three projects include rewriting the county and municipal Liquid Fuels Tax programs for Bureau of Municipal Services, interfacing with Bureau of Public Transit’s capital planning tool, and aiding in the creation of a reporting area within PennDOT’s DW/BI area for dotGrants data that will benefit all five bureaus that use dotGrants. The solutions will be developed using .NET.
During the 12-month engagement, the consultant will develop, implement and support the above four projects.
Specific Duties:
1.Serve as a senior developer of complex n-tier applications using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, .NET Framework 3.5, C# and ASP.NET.
2.Perform a leading role in the design and develop user interface, service tier and data tier components for complex applications, including server-based web applications.
3.Utilize object oriented architecture to create reusable components for consumption by other development teams within PennDOT
4.Perform a leading role in the design and development of normalized transactional databases, stored procedures, functions, views and other database structures in SQL Server 2008
5.Perform a leading role in the unit, system, performance and user testing of applications.
6.Perform a leading role in implementing and supporting web applications, including working with infrastructure teams on deployment, troubleshooting and support.
7.Participate in project planning and management, including developing of timelines, leveling of resources and managing of tasks for quality, schedule and budget.
8.Meet with end users and technical staff of all types to gather business and system requirements and to provide end-user support for applications in production.
9.Ensure that the application solutions developed satisfy the business and technical requirements and standard testing procedures have been followed
10.Collaborates with business and technical experts to ensure solutions support PennDOT’s strategic plan
Required Skills and Experience
1.Required: 5+ years of full SDLC experience developing web-based applications and web services utilizing Microsoft .NET technologies.
2.Required: 2+ years of experience designing and developing databases, database objects and database code using Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL.
3.Required: Strong Web Design skills (HTML, CSS, & JavaScript)
4.Required: Strong oral and written communication skills
5.Desired: Experience with Crystal Reports and Business Objects XI Enterprise
