Primary work location:
Academic Personnel Services (APS) is currently operating in a hybrid remote-work setup. Candidates must be capable of starting work remotely and must have reliable high-speed internet; a university-owned computer will be provided. This position requires a minimum of three days in the office, although the selected candidate will begin with two days in the office (Monday and Wednesday). All APS employees must be able to return to campus at the discretion of leadership.
Purpose
The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost (EVPP) seeks a Senior Academic HR Coordinator to join the Academic Personnel Services (APS) team. The mission of the EVPP APS team is to manage key academic processes and provide consultative support on matters requiring professional judgment and knowledge of policies, laws, and procedures as they pertain to faculty and academic staff.
Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries and requests related to academic matters such as, but not limited to, faculty hiring, leaves, and separations, within ServiceNow’s ticketing platform.Review faculty job postings to ensure they comply with university and state policy.Audit and review faculty Prior Approval Request (PAR) documents to ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, standards, and business procedures. Consult with hiring units on PARs and associated faculty recruitment and hiring activities.Review and approve business processes in Workday to ensure compliance with Regents Rules, university policy, and EVPP business procedures. Consult with campus stakeholders as necessary.Other related functions as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree and three years of increasingly responsible experience working with human resource functions in a university environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively on a team and with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under stress to meet all deadlines and assignments.Demonstrated ability to deal with unexpected challenges quickly, calmly and efficiently and to adapt to shifting priorities.Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information, applying sound judgment, tact, and discretion at all times.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and TeamsRelevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree and five or more years of experience working with academic human resource functions within The University of Texas System.Experience working with faculty and administrative and professional positions and policies administered by a university.Working knowledge of the fundamental position management, organizational structure, and process flow within the Workday platform.Experience working with Workday, DEFINE, and ServiceNow.Salary Range$62,000 + depending on qualifications
