Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

In this role you will be a part of the team responsible for the preparation of the financial information filed with the SEC and the review and assessment of Spotify's technical accounting matters. You will assist business partners in making informed decisions around key commercial matters while maintaining accounting compliance. Success involves working with a diverse and cross-functional team, domestically and internationally, contributing towards developing world-class accounting and reporting processes and controls to help prepare the Company for its continued future growth. This is a dynamic role in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment. What You'll DoAssist with the timely preparation and review of quarterly financial information filed with the SEC, including Forms 20-F and 6-K, and local statutory financial statementsAssist in the preparation of certain monthly corporate accounting entries such as stock-based compensationAssist in evaluating accounting and financial reporting considerations for accounting topics including, but not limited to debt and equity transactions, intangible assets, leasing, stock-based compensation, financial instruments and business combinationsCollaborate with key partners across the business including FP&A, Legal, HR, other Accounting teams, and Internal Audit, as part of the operational and technical implementation of new agreements or transactionsHelp to support external audits and reviews Who You Are3+ years of experience in public accounting working with SEC registered companiesBig 4 experience, strongly preferredExperience in accounting advisory or transaction services is strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and be an actively licensed CPA or equivalentKnowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and SEC reporting and ability to apply know-how of technical accounting and financial reporting standardsExperience in technical accounting research and drafting technical accounting position memoranda and presentationsExperience working with automated reporting tools (i.e., NetSuite, Workiva etc.) is a bonusBrings a detail-oriented and hands-on style and the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast moving company with a wide variety of strategic initiativesHave excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Candidates must be motivated, focused, flexible, and be able to work autonomously.Where You'll BeThis role is based in New York, NY We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come into the office 2-3 days per week.The United States base range for this position is $83,903 - $119,861.00 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance.
