Summary Description:
The General Ledger Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering timely and quality service to internal Dover customers, as measured by service level agreements and key performance indicators. Key activities include approving general ledger transactions and related activities, reviewing accountants’ calculations and analysis, preparing reports, and supporting period close processes to ensure accurate, complete and timely reporting of financial results. The General Ledger Senior Accountant will also be responsible for performing account reconciliations and performance reporting, participation in continuous improvement efforts, and partnering with Shared Services leaders to implement strategic priorities.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversees daily work execution including month-end and year end close Conducts and facilitates team huddles Either as a successor to team lead or as Subject Matter Expert (dual path) Performs Bank reconciliation and Cash Management Approves journal entries > $10K allocations, and period end adjustments in per approval matrix Assists in operational issue resolution Prepares performance metrics, updating of visual boards and team updates Supports continuous improvement for general ledger processes Provides audit support, both internal and external Performs consolidations and process streamlining Performs journal entry tracker review and analysis Executes other tasks maybe assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy; CPA preferred Previous experience in general accounting, with exposure to:- US GAAP and IFRS
- Fixed Asset, Cash Management and Intercompany Accounting Experienced with major ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.); Oracle preferred Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (i.e. basic to complex formulas, pivoting, graphs and charts, Macro Excel is a plus) Six-sigma trained is a plus Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications (including SharePoint and Web-based applications)
