**What your impact will be.**
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated **Senior Accountant, Global Revenue Accounting** to join our team at EDB. This position will report to the USA based Manager, Global Revenue Accounting and collaborate with Accounting team members in India and other global stakeholders. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of revenue recognition, compliance with accounting policies, and driving process improvements in revenue accounting operations.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting background, a keen eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting key aspects of EDB's global accounting processes. Working closely with the Accounting, Sales, Legal and FP&A team members, and external auditors, you will ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606, compliance with policies, and drive continuous improvement in the revenue accounting function.
Your key responsibilities will include:
+ Assist with revenue recognition under ASC 606, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
+ Review customer contracts to determine proper revenue treatment, including identification of performance obligations, variable consideration, and allocation of transaction prices.
+ Prepare and analyze monthly revenue reports, reconciliations, and flux analyses to support financial reporting.
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess revenue-related matters and ensure contract structures align with accounting policies.
+ Support revenue-related audits, including external audits and internal reviews, by preparing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
+ Assist in the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
+ Identify opportunities to streamline revenue processes, enhance automation, and improve efficiency within the order-to-cash cycle.
+ Collaborate with billing and collections teams to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue deferral tracking.
+ Stay up to date with evolving revenue recognition standards and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
+ Support other Accounting and Finance team tasks and ad-hoc projects as needed.
**What you will bring.**
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ CPA / CA or equivalent certification, or progress towards certification, preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, audit, or related finance roles, preferably in the software/SaaS industry.
+ Strong understanding of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and its application to software/SaaS businesses.
+ Experience with ERP and revenue recognition systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
+ Experience with account reconciliation systems (Blackline preferred).
+ Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with global teams.
+ High level of attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
+ Ability to interpret and apply policies, ensuring compliance across multiple regions.
+ Demonstrated teamwork skills and capabilities, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and contribute to successful project outcomes.
+ Growth mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, learn from challenges, and support continuous improvement.
+ Experience working in a remote environment for a global organization is strongly preferred.
