TITLE: Senior Accountant, US and Canada, Food and Industrial Ingredients
LOCATION: Westchester, IL
REPORTS TO: Controller FII US/CAN
Core Responsibilities:
•Provide technical support (US GAAP accounting mentorship) to Segment business stakeholders to support new and changing initiatives.
•Manage the close and financial reporting and segmentation process within the Food and Industrial Ingredients segment and coordinate the review of IT solutions.
•Manage US/Canada Food and Industrial Ingredients customer rebate program with strong collaboration across various sales teams and shared service centers.
•Collaborate with indirect staff throughout the accounting organization both at the shared service centers and various accounting Centers of Excellence for process improvement.
•Develop and deliver periodic performance reporting for the balance sheet in support of Ingredion’s Segmentation work with IT and FP&A towards solutions for segmented working capital reporting and other analytics related to the segment balance sheet.
•Review balance sheet fluctuations to identify issues and problems mentor the accounting organization on resolving issues.
•Review reserves and accruals in a timely fashion for completeness and proper support, including legal reserves, allowances for bad debt, inventory reserves, and other material liabilities.
•Continuous improvement identification, recommendation, and implementation.
•Support company-wide initiatives and provide subject matter expertise on accounting treatment.
•Monitor and review key controls throughout the accounting organization to ensure compliance.
•Provide support and oversight on intercompany transfer pricing ensuring compliance as the organization re segments.
•Coordinate the preparation of the CDQ, TDQ and QRP related documents prior to submission to Corporate Accounting.
•Review and collaborate on SAP semi-annual access review with IT and employees within the organization.
•General Ledger – Prepare and enter monthly journal entries into SAP for various balance sheet and P&L accounts and foreign currency transactions as required.
Qualified candidates will have:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred.
•6 to 10 years finance and accounting experience with of increasing responsibility.
•Multi-national company experience with multi-country sales and manufacturing, and some exposure to U.S. reporting requirements.
•Strong verbal and written English skills with a strong attention to detail.
•Broad experience across financial disciplines (Planning, Control, Sales, Supply Chain).
•Understanding of US and local GAAP as well as local statutory and tax requirements.
•Ability to multitask and manage competing requests effectively.
•Experience working with SAP, BW, BPC and ERP implementation a plus.
•Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts and theories used in the business environment.
•Proficient in monthly general ledger closing process, journal entry preparation and account reconciliation preparation.
•Proven proficiency in the use of Windows software programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
•Ability to work independently and manage workload to meet internal deadlines.
•Relies on experience, judgment, and collaboration with others to plan and accomplish goals.
•Demonstrated ability and desire to improve internal processes.

$95,300.00-$127,100.00 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
