Job Title: Senior AccountantType: Full-time, On-Site
Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in government contracting (GovCon) to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of government cost accounting standards and compliance requirements, including expertise in incurred cost proposals, government cost type billings, disclosure statements, and DCAA audits. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can navigate complex financial regulations and ensure accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review incurred cost proposals, ensuring compliance with government regulations.Manage government cost type billings, including the preparation and submission of accurate and timely invoices.Develop, maintain, and update disclosure statements in accordance with government requirements.Analyze and manage allowable/unallowable indirect costs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.Conduct floor checks to verify the accuracy of labor charging and other cost allocations.Coordinate and lead DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) audits, ensuring all required documentation and support are available and accurate.Provide technical expertise and guidance on government accounting standards and practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to government contracting.Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a government contracting environment.Strong knowledge of government cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).Proven experience with incurred cost proposals, government cost type billings, disclosure statements, allowable/unallowable indirect costs, floor checks, and DCAA audits.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with ERP systems used in government contracting.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
