Responsibilities

Team Select Home Care is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Team Select family. The Senior Accountant (SSA) is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports/statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Generates, analyzes, reviews and communicates financial data that reflects actual financial performance to the budget.Performs essential tasks for the month end close processEnsures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and proceduresEnsures all financial reporting deadlines are metReconciles all corporate bank accounts on a daily basis and documentsEnsures accurate and timely monthly and year end closeEstablishes and monitors the implementation and maintenance of accounting control proceduresResolves accounting discrepancies and irregularitiesEnsures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expensesAnalyzes and advises on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenuesAnalyzes financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problemsMaintains electronic and paper records as necessaryPerforms other duties as assigned by ControllerMaintains strict confidentiality on patient, employee and agency mattersPerform other tasks as assigned Qualifications Accounting degree or equivalentKnowledge of accepted accounting practices and principlesKnowledge of economic principlesKnowledge of auditing practices and principlesA minimum of 3 years experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing or taxation
