Sr. Accountant
Brief Description
This position is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance functions for the Monticello site. The Senior Accountant processes daily, weekly, and monthly accounting transactions, reporting, and analysis. This role plays a critical role in monthly and annual closing activities. The Sr. accountant will teach and mentor the accounting team.
Key Accountabilities
Standard cost maintenance and analysisAnalyzes P&L and balance sheet performance and trendsAnalyzes variance to budget and forecastInterprets operating results as the affect financial performance and make recommendations related to profit and working capital improvementsSupport CAPEX investment and analysisPlays a key role in creating the annual budgetProcesses daily financial transactions using our ERP systemRecommends and drives process improvementsPlays a key role in the monthly closing function and financial statement preparationMonthly, quarterly and annual financial reportingCash management including cash forecastingReviewing accounting systems and controls.Internal/ External audits.Special projects, ad-hoc reports/analysis, and other duties as required.Job Requirements
Capabilities and Success Factors
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is required MBA or CPA is desiredAt least 7 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP and SOX is requiredProficiency with Hyperion is preferredStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationHigh energy with ability to multi-taskA continuous improvement mind-set, can share experiences of implementing process improvements Pro-active, analytical, accurate, conscientious, customer oriented, results orientedThis position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position
