Summary

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of reports and audits, collaborating with staff, and supporting the accounting department as needed. Strong communication, independent problem solving, and project management skills are essential. This is a full-time, in-person position offering a competitive salary within a growing, healthcare company located in Topeka, Kansas. 

Duties and Responsibilities Verify, allocate, post and reconcile monthly transactions and reports Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting Preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements Assist with analyzing financial statements, financial and tax audits Support end of month, end of quarter, and end of year reporting Communicate and collaborate with accounting staff and other departments Document, monitor, and report on internal controls Provide support and feedback regarding established department procedures Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or higher-level degree in accounting, required 5+ years’ minimum accounting experience, preferredCPA designation, preferred not required Background in healthcare or related industry preferred, but not required Established foundation in accounting theory and practical application of concepts Strong Microsoft Office skills, high proficiency in Excel Ability to self-direct and manage workflow and multiple projects and assignments to meet assigned deadlines Highly detail orientated, organized and focused
