Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant will be a part of DAI’s corporate accounting team. S/he will be an independent, hands-on, and self-directed individual responsible for multiple aspects of the corporate accounting function that reports to DAI’s Associate Director, Accounting. S/he will have the ability to use professional judgment to determine the appropriate accounting treatment. S/he will work closely with other members of the accounting and finance management team to drive DAI’s priorities and objectives.
The Senior Accountant will support DAI’s new ERP implementation as well as the legacy system monthly close process, consolidations, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and analysis. As part of the ERP implementation, s/he will support the Associate Director with the requirements gathering and process documentation efforts, data cleansing, data migration and data validation tasks, system and functionality testing and documentation of results, new functionality training, and change management. As part of the monthly close s/he will manage the consolidation and aspects of DAI’s intercompany accounting and provide DAI’s subsidiaries with accounting support in this area as needed. S/he will process legacy system monthly journals, perform account reconciliations, and other month-end accounting and reporting tasks as assigned by the Associate Director. S/he will also support year-end activities and assist with the financial statements preparation and preparation of necessary work papers required for external audit.
This is a full-time, hybrid permanent position with 3 days in the office.
Responsibilities ERP Implementation Assist in ERP requirement gathering sessions and preparation of necessary business process requirements and documentation. Assist with data cleansing, data migration, and data validation tasks. Assist with ERP functionality testing and documentation of test results. Assist with training and change management initiatives related to the new ERP go-live Review corporate accounting processes and tools and identify business process issues and gaps. Implement changes to improve processes. Month Close, and External Audit Support Support the timely closing and consolidation of the monthly, and year-end books and records for DAI. This includes recording journal entries, reconciling balances, and ensuring accuracy by reviewing financial statements, investigating account variations, and verifying account balances. Prepare the consolidation and elimination entries and ensure they are reflected in a complete and accurate manner. Responsible for all aspects of the intercompany accounting of a portfolio of subsidiaries and have the skills to resolve FX-related issues. Responsible for the preparation of the monthly consolidated cash flow statement. Assist with lease accounting, revenue recognition, and acquisitions accounting. Assist with monthly reporting and year-end financial statements preparation. Assist with external audits including preparation of necessary work papers. Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree and CPA or equivalent P6: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in corporate accounting. At least 3 years combined experience in all aspects of accounting close and working at a public accounting firm. Well versed in US GAAP accounting, specifically revenue recognition, lease accounting, and business combinations. Experience with international consolidations, eliminations, and foreign currency translations Comfortable working with large data sets with a high level of computer literacy with advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Must be hands-on, and self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks/competing deadlines simultaneously. Must be comfortable with and embrace working at a very detailed level (for example, booking journal entries and reconciling accounts) as well as thinking strategically about DAI Able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information with discretion. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams, create inclusive work environments, and work effectively within a culturally diverse environment. Authorized to work in the USA.Preferred, but not required:
Big 4 public accounting experience or experience in large complex organizations. Experience with ERP implementations. Working knowledge of SAP. Experience managing automation initiatives and change. Experience in researching, developing, and implementing accounting policies and procedures. Strong working knowledge of FAR and CAS. Compensation & Benefits:For employees working in the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $95,000 - $115,000. Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.
