Senior Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant in the Albany, New York area. This role operates in a dynamic and collaborative workplace where you will play a key part in shaping our financial operations. For immediate consideration, please contact Carmen Warga in our Albany, NY office Responsibilities: + Identify and resolve any discrepancies in accounts payable and receivable + Handle specialized billing processes and manage yearly filing obligations + Support the setup of new projects and bids within specialized accounting software + Execute payroll processing and coordinate retirement plan contributions + Maintain up-to-date equipment records, including tracking new assets + Provide project support and answer operational questions for management + Supervise select team members involved in project management and coordination + Monitor mileage logs for project and estimating teams + Develop advanced skills in project-related software and offer technical assistance + Ensure all month-end closing tasks are completed on time and accurately + Reconcile various accounts, including balance sheets and bank transactions + Oversee entries in general ledger and support financial reporting Requirements • Must possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must. • Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle, SAP and NetSuite is beneficial. • Knowledge in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is essential. • Experience with general ledger and journal entries is necessary. • Ability to handle month-end close activities is required. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. • Must be a team player with the ability to work independently. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on information at hand. • Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Must have a high level of integrity and dependability.
