Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the environmental sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in month-end close processes, journal entries, and multi-entity accounting. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial transactions and compliance with regulatory standards, while also fostering a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Journal Entries: Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards. Multi-Entity Accounting: Manage accounting activities for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and consolidations. Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Fixed Assets Management: Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation. Expense Management: Monitor and review expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team to ensure cohesive and efficient operations. Provide guidance and support to junior team members. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making and provide accounting insights. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on month-end close, journal entries, and multi-entity accounting. Experience in the environmental sector is a plus.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting standards.
