PagerDuty is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will report to PagerDuty’s Accounting leader and play a role in the financial close process. You will partner with team members across the finance team and continuously improve finance processes as the company expands.

How You Impact Our Vision:
Manage specific areas of our month-end close cycle, including preparation general journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly analytics. Own specific, close processes and related SOX controls to achieve a high-speed SOX-compliant close through best-in-class practices. Partner with the FP&A team and manage month-end accrual processes for all functional areas. Serve as a backup for accounting of other functional areas. Research and apply technical accounting principles to complex transactions. Support business stakeholders within Sales and Marketing, Engineering, and certain G&A areas from the accounting perspective. Create, implement, and maintain scalable processes, policie,s and controls within the team and cross-functionally. Support external and internal audits. Assist with projects as they arise - including ERP and other system implementations. Driven with a great work ethic. Positive get-it-done attitude! Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Superb written and oral communication skills. Ability to wear multiple hats and adjust priorities as the business evolves. Comfortable working across different time zones with team members residing in various geographic locations.Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4+ years of accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry experience in a SOX environment. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., Pivot tables, V-lookups) Experience with NetSuite or another large-scale accounting system Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process is strongly preferredPreferred Qualifications/Skills:
Accounting experience at a multinational SaaS company is preferred. CPA (or equivalent) preferred. Project management and team management experience is highly desired. Understanding of SOX environment and controls and compliance requirements that come with it. Entrepreneurial, creative, and innovative, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.The base salary range for this position is 100,000 - 156,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
