Who we're looking for: We're looking for a strong Senior Accountant to join our team. You'll primarily be responsible for supporting our US Accounting team with month-end close and reconciliations. This role will assist in properly recording revenue, accruals, reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing and completing month-end close procedures, and assisting with our monthly financial statement variance analysis. You’ll also be responsible for assisting in Rover’s annual US audit, suggesting ways to improve processes and gain efficiencies, and assisting with mentoring junior staff. You'll succeed in this role if you are committed to operational excellence, focused on impact, crush assignments while striving to be a serious performer, and don’t take yourself too seriously. 
Your Responsibilities:Prepare and record month-end journal entries and accrualsPerform account reconciliations in a timely manner and resolve variances each monthAssist in performing monthly variance analysisResearch and review transactions and provide necessary complex analysesDevelop and maintain accounting policies and proceduresReview current processes and provide recommendations to management for improvement that will accommodate future growthAssist with US financial statement auditAssist in documenting and maintaining internal controls
Your Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent (ie. Administracion y Direccion de Empresas)3-5+ years of experience in corporate accountingExperience working for a US company, including knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously while consistently achieving deadlines in dynamic, high-pressure environmentProven ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively and prioritize tasks to meet the diverse demands of the roleExpertise in advanced Excel functions and toolsMeticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skillsStrong analytical acumen with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex problemsStrong skills in English and Spanish to facilitate communication with the U.S. parent company and local stakeholdersFamiliarity with accounting software and programsThe position requires flexible working hours to accommodate the operational needs of the parent company, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across time zones.
