Job Purpose:

The Senior Accountant will serve as the subject matter expert in a wide range of accounting matters, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for the organization. This role is pivotal in developing and enhancing standard operating procedures, fostering cross-functional relationships, and offering accounting guidance to the plant managers. The position is essential for ensuring the financial profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead in the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close activities, including bank reconciliation, journal entry preparation, accounts reconciliation, and financial analysis.Prepare financial statements and various management reports.Develop, manage, and provide guidance on standard operating procedures for accurate accounting & reporting.Form a deep understanding of inventory and production process to build an effective cost accounting structure.Examine current processes and provide recommendations as needed or create new processes to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.Coordinate with external tax/audit service providers on providing PBC schedules.Establish professional relationships and collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization.Manage tight deadlines, independently organizing and prioritizing work.Demonstrate proven analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Capabilities

Demonstrate the ability to independently conduct technical accounting research and possess a comprehensive understanding of GAAP to provide guidance as required.Ability to discover, own and drive critical issues to resolution, a sense of urgency and tenacity is required.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be a self-starter, flexible, and able to work on time sensitive projects without daily supervision.Willingness to take on and assist with new and varied projects as they arise.Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.Knowledge of ERP systems is a strong plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience with public accounting is preferred.Active CPA license is preferred.

* The minimum annual base salary for this position is $85,000.00 + bonus + benefits.  Base pay may increase depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.   This information is specific to Corona, CA and may not be applicable to other locations.
