Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial statements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares daily and monthly journal entries for general ledger and fixed assets.Reviews fixed assets to ensure accurate accounting including additions, transfers, disposals and ending account balances; maintains subledger.Responsible for calculating monthly depreciation expense.Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.Responsible for capital expenditure reports.Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly.Cross-trains with other accounting staff. Assists in preparation of explanations for monthly P&L meetings, including comparison of actual versus budget and prior year amounts.Responsible for monthly and quarterly regulatory compliance filings and payment of fees.Prepares monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns.Responsible for annual gaming tax return filings.Assists CCCR department personnel with questions and concerns.Assist with internal and external audits.Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Five years related experience and/or training in a large, complex environment; four-year university program degree.
Language Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written. Ability to interpret quotes, contracts and invoicing documents.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn new systems quickly and have knowledge of Excel and Word. Experience with accounting software required; Great Plains and Sage Fixed Assets experience- preferred.
