Salary Mid-Point: $115,000 Location: Pittsburgh PA Job Type: Permanent IFG - Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in closing financial books, managing general ledger activities, and ensuring the integrity of financial records. As an integral member of the finance team, this role will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, coordinating month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant Lead and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper financial reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies during the closing process. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to management regarding financial performance. Coordinate the annual external audit process, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors. Assist with the preparation and filing of business tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Provide detailed financial analysis and variance reporting to management.
Requirements of the Senior Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required. Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger activities. Experience in working with accounting software and financial reporting systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Experience in auditing, tax preparation, or working in a public accounting firm. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
