\n \n Job Description

Senior Accountant is a senior level accounting position responsible for month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a high level of complexity. This is an accounting support position in a fast paced centralized accounting services environment providing financial services to community associations throughout North America. Candidates for this position must meet Associa’s credit requirements.

\n\nFull Accrual Accounting\nMonth-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple entities (Non-Profit Corporations) with a high level of complexity \nAble to perform departmental accounting functions \nProcess and review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations with extensive investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferrals, accruals, payroll liabilities, and reserves \nDevelop amortization and depreciation schedules \nDevelop and maintain supporting schedules and reports as requested \nBudget development assistance and administration \nPerform Year End close \nSupport community Association Managers (CAM)and Branch Financial Accounting Support Person (FASP), and Association Board of Directors (BOD) as requested \nWork with supporting departments (Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Data Management, Delinquency, Tax and Banking Team) on issue resolution\nOccasional work on weekends may be required\nOther duties as assigned\n\n

Knowledge and Skills

\n\n\n\n\n\nInternal company balancing\nAbility to interpret and apply industry related law \nAble to manage multiple entities, meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail \nDepartmental accounting functions\nExperienced in budget development and implementation \nMicrosoft Office , Excel\nGood written and verbal communication skills \nComplete Control for Communities (C3) software, preferred but not required\nUnderstanding of, or experience in, the Community Association Management Industry, preferred but not required\nExperience working in an Accounting Shared Services Center environment, preferred but not required\n\n Requirements\n\n\n\n

Education and Experience

\n\n\n\n\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5-years full-cycle accounting experience or Master’s degree and 3-years full-cycle accounting experience \nKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) guidelines \n
