Position: Sr. Accountant
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Placement type: Contract to Hire
Our non-profit client is building out their accounting team by adding 4 sr. accountants. These positions are being added due to organic growth and will be set up in a hybrid schedule (Tuesday-Thursday in the office) as well as a contract-to-hire model. The ideal candidates for this role will have extensive experience in month-end closing duties, reconciliations between multiple software systems, variance analysis, and resolving discrepancies.

Description
Facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures to include general ledger reconciliations, journal entries and the ability to research and determine the most effective means of handling accounting transactions.Preparation of financial statements to include balance sheet, income statements by department and statement of cash flow.Analyze financial statements to include variances in the P&L against budget and meet deadlines in accordance with a month-end closing calendar.Maintain the accounts within the ERP system for general ledger, accounts payable, and receivables.Coordinate meetings with Corporate Accounting Manager and financial analysts to communicate general ledger activity in relation to department budgets.Support the Controller and Corporate Accounting Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.Assist CFO and Controller with annual external financial audit, state audit and organization tax return (Form 990) preparation.Research, develop and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAPAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance5 – 7 years’ experience (public accounting experience a plus)Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookups etc.)Analytical mindsetPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00
