About the Role - Senior Accountant
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Type: Permanent
Salary: PLN 110 000 - 138,000 annually, Depending on experience
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Warsaw. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
Preparing monthly and annual accounts for Pearson Central Europe. Reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting operations to ensure accuracy. Overseeing the work delivered by the BPO team. Reviewing and approving journals with appropriate backup and correct coding. Preparing monthly VAT and corporate tax calculations and declarations. Preparing statistical reports and information (GUS, ZUS, NBP, US). Supporting the business with WHT tax. Providing ad-hoc analysis and reports to support business, group, and tax decisions. Interacting with business units, enabling functions, and external/internal auditors. Completing compliance reporting in accordance with local legislation. Assisting with SOX compliance and annual procedure reviews. Supporting transfer pricing file preparation. Participating in continuous improvement projects and reporting requirements. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovative solutions. Maintaining an effective system of internal controls.Key Requirements
We are looking for a self-starter who is eager to drive continuous improvement and develop their accounting skills. The ideal candidate will have:
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Polish GAAP Principles and IFRS accounting rules. Strong communication skills. Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure. High level of responsibility, ownership, and a proactive attitude. Knowledge of Oracle software (an important asset).
