Senior Accountant
Job Summary The Senior Accountant is part of the CityVet Finance team and reports to the Accounting Manager. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing cash management for our centers and home office as well as ensuring that general ledger transactions are properly recorded and that supporting documents are present. The Senior Accountant will work with accounting peers to improve processes and procedures, increase organization and documentation of transactions and aid in the completion of monthly financial statements. Key Responsibilities • Tracking, maintaining, and overseeing the daily movement of money in and out of company’s banking accounts. • Submit periodic reports detailing the present financial situation and assisting in cash forecasting. • Implement company policies regarding documentation and accounting of receipts and other financial information. • Reconcile all cash and AR accounts. • Coordinate with financial institutions on opening and closing accounts. • Coordinate with CityVet clinics to support staff in collectibles. • Other cash-related tasks as assigned. • Help to monitor and resolve CityVet MUTTS tickets assigned to the Accounting Team • Train employees, monitor expense reports, audit and process all submitted company expense reports through Certify • Assist with all regular accounting processes, such as journal entries plus monthly general ledger account reconciliations • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual audits as directed by the CFO • Maintain and improve CityVet’s bookkeeping process • Support the Controller and CFO in the drafting and editing of financial presentations, for internal and external need Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting • 0-3 years experience with general ledger accounting • Knowledge of GAAP and COSO internal controls • Strong excel and Microsoft suite skills • NetSuite experience a plus • Team player who is organized, proactive, self-directed, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned projects to meet deadlines • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Experience with deposit and credit card verifications • Experience with Accounts Receivable
