Senior Accountant

Performs financial, regulatory, and general accounting/reporting functions and control processes.   

Essential Job Functions

1. Accounts for and maintains one or more of the following: property, plant, and equipment, including cost segregation models; bank owned life insurance; intangible assets; prepaid/other assets; borrowings; other liabilities; recording payroll transactions; and intercompany overhead allocations.

2. Provides schedules and data required for the Bank’s income tax return related to areas of responsibility.

3. Prepares, records, and reviews various month-end journal entries and other general ledger maintenance/analysis.

4. Reconciles general ledger and checking accounts.

5. Prepares internal control risk assessments and documents, and tests internal controls for SOX 404 and internal enterprise risk management requirements.

6. Assists with the preparation of various regulatory filings (call report, 10-Q/10-K, HUD, etc.).

7. Collaborates with others on the Finance team on budget preparation, reporting and analysis, as needed.

8. Contributes to the annual financial statement audit.

9. Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of other essential job functions and decision making.

10. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.

11. Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

12. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

1. Knowledge of current generally accepted accounting principles, rules, and regulations.

2. Ability to perform accurate financial analysis and mathematical computations.

11. Skill in computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Basic Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field, or commensurate work experience required.

2. 3+ years of work experience in public accounting or corporate finance related role, required.

3. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required.

4. MBA or Certified Public Accountant designation, preferred.
