Role Description: At CoStar Group, our finance group centralizes transaction processes, providing accurate reporting, financial resolutions, and proper forecasting analysis. Joining the team offers access to financial specializations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and asset management, client contracts and billing, and revenue recognition. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the global consolidation of the Company’s financial statements with a focus on helping maintain and enhance the Company’s ERP, Oracle. Responsibilities include working closely with the financial systems team on Oracle upgrades and implementations of new functionality and maintaining and designing reports used for management and external reporting. This role will also be responsible for overseeing general ledger maintenance including changes to the chart of accounts and legal entity structure and will be integral in helping execute various financial system projects as CoStar Group continues to scale for growth. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in communicating with the broader finance organization to understand the needs of the business and ensure ERP updates are appropriately implemented.

This Senior Accountant will also be responsible for various month end close duties including global consolidation, which includes recording and analyzing inter-company transactions and eliminations, foreign currency and cost allocations, as well as, general accruals, and various other ad hoc projects as assigned. This person will also be involved in the integration of acquired businesses, including the integration and mapping of GL systems. This role will also include reporting responsibilities related to monthly management financials and quarterly and annual SEC filings.

The Senior Accountant should be eager to learn and demonstrate strong communication, time management and organizational skills. The Senior Accountant should be highly adaptable to change due to Costar’s rapid growth via organic growth and acquisitions. The Senior Accountant will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

Assistance in a variety of aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation and maintenanceAssistance with special projects within department or as part of cross-functional teamsPreparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and review of monthly financial resultsResearch technical accounting issuesWork with external auditors and facilitate review of the close process, account reconciliations and variance analysesEnsure timely monthly close and accurate monthly results

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.A track record of commitment to prior employers.3-5 year’s accounting experience working in a large international public company and/or Big 4 accounting firmConsolidations and/or financial reporting experienceExperience with Oracle Cloud ERP

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm preferredLicensed CPA or candidateStrong project management, time management and communication skillsAbility to think critically and analyze data effectivelyAbility to work with financial systems design, structure and reportingAbility to work effectively within a team to complete projects
