Robert Half is assisting a valued client in their search for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, the Senior Accountant will oversee critical accounting operations and ensure the organization adheres to best practices in financial reporting and compliance. Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accurate reporting.
+ Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
+ Oversee month-end and year-end closings, ensuring deadlines are met.
+ Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
+ Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by collaborating with leadership and key department stakeholders.
+ Support compliance efforts, including audits, regulatory reporting, and adherence to GAAP standards.
+ Monitor and implement improvements to internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets.
+ Research and resolve discrepancies, providing detailed reports and solutions to management.
+ Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants or finance professionals.
Requirements
+ Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a similar role.
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or progress toward CPA certification is highly desirable.
+ Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Netsuite).
+ Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance. Public accounting or audit experience is a plus.
+ Problem-Solving: Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and provide effective, actionable solutions.
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to management.
+ Attention to Detail: Accuracy and detail orientation, paired with excellent organizational skills.
