**Position Summary:**
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the application of Bentley’s accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and New Zealand requirements. This position involves interaction across the Bentley organisation, including Bentley’s international financial operations based in Ireland, the corporate and international controllership functions in the United States and Netherlands, as well as various regional finance teams. You will report to the Senior Finance Manager ANZ & SEA.
This role requires developing a deep understanding of Bentley’s business and various commercial models. The successful candidate is ambitious, a team player, has a solid technical accounting background including financial statement preparation, experience with GST, is familiar with the control requirements of publicly traded companies, has a understanding of US GAAP and IFRS, possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, and enjoys working in the multicultural environment of a global tech leader.
**Your Day-to-Day Activities:**
+ Execute statutory financial reporting closing and ensure compliance with group (US GAAP and IFRS) and statutory accounting policies.
+ Perform/oversee monthly financial and accounting analysis.
+ Partner with the Intercompany Controller in the United States on the accurate accounting of intercompany contracts.
+ Prepare annual statutory financial statements, including liaising with and being the main contact for auditors.
+ Understand payroll and associated compliance, including being the internal champion.
+ Work closely with the Finance Director, Tax Director, and other Finance Managers on international transactional tax requirements. Proactively work with the business and corporate functions to identify risks and opportunities.
+ Collaborate with various business groups as new commercial offerings are developed and provide guidance on transactional tax treatment.
+ Work with regional finance teams on international transactional tax compliance by reviewing cross-border commercial offerings for accurate GST treatment.
+ Prepare, review, and/or arrange for the timely submission of all GST returns and other compliance-related matters.
+ Review transactions for accuracy. Collaborate with the business and accounts payable group to ensure proper GST accounting on purchases. Promote a data quality culture of right source and minimal corrections.
+ Stay abreast of regulatory changes in different jurisdictions where Bentley operates in the ANZ & SEA region.
**What You Bring to The Team:**
+ University or higher education degree in Accounting or Finance, ideally Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role related to tax, accounting, reporting, or audit.
+ Experience in the software industry, a finance shared service centre, and/or a US GAAP international company is an advantage.
+ Thorough understanding of international accounting and reporting requirements (IFRS and US GAAP).
+ Thorough understanding of financial control requirements; SOX experience in the US is an advantage.
+ Experience working with teams in a multicultural environment.
+ Excellent communication skills; fluent in English, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work under tight deadlines.
