Job Title: Accountant
Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, analyzing and verifying the accuracy of general ledger and subsidiary ledger information. The incumbent will apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, reconcile accounts, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management. This position requires special knowledge of accounting software and will assist the controller in developing efficiencies in accounting processes.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare financial data such as schedules and entries for monthly closing of financial books.
+ Provide in-depth financial analysis to assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
+ Analyze general ledger accounts for conformity with GAAP and verify the accuracy of balances.
+ Assist management and external auditors with financial analysis.
+ Demonstrate high-level skills in Yardi accounting system or other accounting software, including developing efficiencies and improving automation in the monthly close process.
+ Provide audit assistance to external auditors, including supporting information, PBC schedules, and explanations as needed.
+ Prepare, review, and consolidate financial information for subsidiary entities.
+ Develop journal entries to record new property acquisitions and advise property management accounting personnel on the accounting treatment of various transactions.
+ Review property financial statements and account reconciliations.
+ Lead and/or provide analytical support for any ad hoc projects and perform related duties as assigned by management.
+ Perform related work and additional duties as needed.
Essential Skills
+ 2-4 years of accounting experience with an emphasis on monthly close and financial reporting; multifamily industry experience or equivalent preferred.
+ Experience and strong aptitude working with automated accounting systems, including multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
+ Advanced spreadsheet skills.
+ Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
+ Client-oriented and demonstrates a 'can-do' attitude.
+ Ability to work competently with others in a team environment.
+ Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization of projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Yardi or other property management software experience is a plus.
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with 1-2 days in the office after the initial training period. The role follows a first shift with flexible hours and requires business casual attire, with professional attire expected at times.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
