Senior Accountant
Description My client is a national non-profit in the political sector seeking to replace their Senior Accountant. This is an essential role, combining diverse accounting responsibilities to support financial planning, reporting, and operational needs. The Senior Accountant will leverage their expertise to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while establishing and overseeing robust accounting policies and procedures. As part of the role, the Senior Accountant will also play a key part in month-end close processes, including the preparation of the organization’s monthly Federal Election Commission (FEC) report. Key Qualifications: Big 4 public accounting experience paired with a CPA license is strongly preferred, ensuring a high level of technical capability and financial acumen. A solid understanding of financial operations, policies, and reporting requirements. Proven ability to handle complex reconciliations, detailed financial analyses, and month-end close procedures. Familiarity with larger ERP systems and Microsoft Excel is a plus. Requirements Essential Responsibilities: Execute revenue reporting and ensure the integrity of revenue data in collaboration with multiple teams. Manage bank reconciliations, automatic payment support, interfund transfers, and monthly variance resolutions. Maintain and administer tools like Concur Expense and Amazon Business Prime, assisting employees and ensuring proper records and approvals. Handle sales and use tax registrations, fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and property tax filings. Provide assistance during audits and compliance reviews, ensuring accurate submission of financial information.
