About the Opportunity
The International Accounting Team (covering both the EMEA and APAC regions) is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant. The role will support VAT & Lease Accounting globally and have additional focus on Territory specific accounting while ensuring local statutory compliance in each of the countries. You will need to manage competing priorities, work independently and communicate efficiently. We are a fast-paced environment, with constant change and being adaptable is the key to success in this role! Additionally, this person will work to support the monthly close process internationally, with a close attention needed to the preparation & review of balance sheet reconciliations. You will partner with the Internal Audit team to ensure strict adherence to control requirements and will serve as a point of contact to the financial reporting and external auditors for a number of Statutory filings. We are looking for someone who is a dynamic team player who enjoys cross functional working and wants to be part of a growing team!
Key Responsibilities
Vat & Lease Accounting
Work closely with the VAT Accounting team to ensure strong compliance and vigorous controls are maintained
Partner with the Indirect Tax team, with a focus on improving processes and timely & accurate submission of returns
Support the lease accounting team on timely completion of monthly close process & reconciliations
Work closely with the Lease Finance Management team, to perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations across our landlord portfolio
Territory Accounting
Timely completion of monthly close process
Prepare analytical reviews across Income Statement and Balance Sheets
Liaise with Territory Finance across the region, ensuring accounting records align with forecasting
Local GAAP Accounting
Work closely with the Statutory Reporting Team, and manage relationships with external accounting service providers
Identify process weaknesses/errors and implement improvements
Provide accurate and timely completion of monthly US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations across various International Countries
About You
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
2+ years post qualified experience
Year end audit / financial statement preparation (US GAAP/IFRS)
Strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to build relationships
Experience in the preparation of month end close processes, with strong experience completing complex reconciliations
Experience with various GAAP submissions
Knowledge of lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842) is a plus.
