Main Duties and Responsibilities
They consist of but are not limited to:
· Assignment of tasks in all areas (accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger accounting) of financial accounting
· Balance Sheet reconciliations/income and expenditure analysis/ P&L analysis
· Calculation and posting of periodical GL Journals
· Assist in the conception, development and implementation of new processes, procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
· Evaluation and booking of business transactions
· Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns and annual tax returns. Contact person for tax consultants and tax authorities
· Assisting in the creation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
· Intercompany postings and reconciliations
· Preparation of monthly forecasting reports with variance analysis
· Cost Centre controls
· Preparation and submittal of Intrastat/EC Sales manual returns
· Oversee and manage internal retail financial audits
· Year end audit preparation
· Provide Training to new and existing staff as needed.
Desired Qualifications
· Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting degree or similar qualification
· Several years of professional experience in an international trading company
· Knowledge and experience with Lease Accounting (IFRS 16)
· Knowledge and experience with Dutch GAAP & US GAAP
· Analytical and numerical skills
· Good to very good language skills in English and Dutch. French Knowledge will be a plus.
· Good knowledge of MS Office.
· Ability to work with deadlines and multitasking
· Flexibility and ability to work in a team
· Knowledge of the Fashion or Footwear industry desirable but not essential.
· Able to travel occasionally within the assigned territory or other company destinations.
