Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting
Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting to join our team in Richmond, Virginia in the Manufacturing industry. This role will involve participation in the accounting, consolidation, and reporting of global operations, along with responsibility for specific technical accounting areas. Responsibilities: • Prepare assigned sections of the consolidated financial statements in accordance with SEC and FASB disclosure requirements, including analyzing supporting data • Engage in the preparation and filing of SEC forms • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual processes including analysis and reconciliation of assigned areas to ensure compliance with internal controls • Design and prepare reports to meet various internal and external requirements • Respond to internal and external inquiries • Collaborate with external auditors as needed • Undertake special projects as assigned • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP • Stay informed of SEC requirements • Ensure accurate customer credit records • Process customer credit applications efficiently Requirements • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CPA or CMA would be a plus. • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant role, preferably within the Chemicals Manufacturing industry. • Familiarity with financial reporting regulations and practices, with an emphasis on SEC Reporting, Form 10-K, and Form 10-Q. • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. • Solid understanding of accounting processes including Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger management, and Journal Entries. • Ability to handle Month End Close procedures effectively. • Knowledge of XBRL for digital business reporting. • Strong skills in Financial Statement Preparation and Technical Accounting. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. • High level of integrity and professionalism.
