Senior Accountant I

This position is responsible for performing monthly close activities and accounting functions including but not limited to journal entries, preparation of supporting schedules and related data and bank reconciliations.  Duties are performed in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Perform day to day month end close activities, including manual journal entries, account reconciliations, trend analysis, footnotes & roll-forwards/other analysesPreparation and posting of monthly journal entries including the timely processing of accruals, amortization, prepaids, payroll, etc. using JD Edwards, Macola and Great Plains Dynamics accounting packages.Perform analyses, bank reconciliations and AR/AP sub ledger reconciliations.Liaise with Management to provide insight into significant account balance fluctuations.Support initiatives with Business Unit Finance teams to drive process improvements and ensure accurate accountingPreparation and account for intercompany account billings as well as analyses of the accounts to verify proper posting activity.Responsible for documenting accounting control procedures and creating procedural manuals of various responsibilities.Works with Internal Audit and External Auditors to achieve efficient and effective quarterly reviews and annual audits.Performing Sarbanes Oxley testing.May work on special projects as requested.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

Experience in Distribution or Manufacturing Healthcare industryIntermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite with a concentration in ExcelGeneral proficiency of tools and systems (HFM, Concur, JD Edwards, Hubble, Macola, Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics, QAD)Experience gathering and interpreting dataKnowledge of GAAPBachelor’s Degree in Accounting requiredCPA Preferred

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Typically 3 to 5 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $61,085 to $106,898 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. ​

At the time of this posting, this position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range subject to the achievement of the plan.
