Job Description

The Power Systems Division is part of ITW's North America Welding Industrial Platform. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for driving results by accurately preparing, interpreting and communicating all division financial information. This individual will be an active leader of the division’s core accounting team and will assist in adhering to and applying all ITW principles and procedures and internal controls. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with excellent leadership skills and the ability to work well as a team and individually. Candidate must be a fast learner and be able to balance multiple projects. This position is based in Appleton, WI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position is a key function within the accounting department. The Senior Accountant will work to ensure accuracy of financial records and integrity of data shared with management, assist in adhering to top 13 internal controls, and complying to ITW's policies and procedures and applicable laws.

Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing process effectively and efficientlyPrepare accurate financial statements, maintain/reconcile ledger accounts, update and report out on department budgetsInventory management including participation in cycle counting program, grading, and monitoring months on handProvides sales and inventory analysis reports as needed to help support the divisionProvide timely data through ad-hoc reporting for other managers to assist with decision-makingBe analytical, inquisitive, and precise in explanationsDemonstrates a strong ability to understand macro and micro trends to quickly discern inaccuraciesAssists in capital expenditure requests, audits, and manage fixed assets within the divisionHelps other employees understand how their decisions will impact the financial resultsIdentifies, communicates, and trains others on key business driversBe a champion of the ITW Toolbox; utilizing 80/20 in all critical thinking toward applying sound judgment to analyze processes, identifying, and acting upon opportunities to reduce complexity and simplify processesPreforms related work as apparent or assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field3-5 years of broad accounting experience (manufacturing experience preferred)Proven track record of being a natural leader and a highly motivated individualMust have a sharp sense of top priorities for the business and is detail oriented with strong problem solving and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with othersDemonstrate the ability to develop positive and productive peer relationshipsWilling to develop self and others with potential for future opportunities in the organizationAbility to resolve issues/conflicts in a timely mannerAbility to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to balance multiple projects and adhere to business deadlinesERP and Financial Reporting software experience required, Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations expertise preferredAdvanced MS Excel skill is required
