Senior Accountant - Tax & Financial Reporting

Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a position on the Ireland Finance team for a Senior Accountant covering Tax & Financial Reporting. This is a key role where the individual will work closely with the Associate Director and other senior management to take responsibility for managing tax compliance and accounting operations across the company network in Ireland. There are 5 Manufacturing entities within the scope of this team in addition to a Human Health and Animal Health Commercial divisions.

What you will do:

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation, and leadership to carry out the following:Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements for internal US GAAP reporting and also for external Irish GAAP reportingAccount Reconciliation: Analyse balance sheet accounts in line with prescribed timelines ensuring audit ready backup in place across the various headings of accruals, benefits and taxAudit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, and prepare necessary documentation.Tax Compliance: Prepare and review corporation tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filing.Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies and opportunities for tax savingsResearch: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and assess their impact on the company.Process Improvement: Support Finance Leadership with process improvements and innovations, policy development, and / or strategic initiatives (e.g., business systems, processes, and / or policies)Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior finance staff, providing guidance and support.


Qualifications

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

Qualified ACA/ACCA/AITI or equivalent with 2-4 years post qualified experiencePharmaceutical experience in a tax and/or accounting and finance roleStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong Proficiency in Excel and SAPExcellent communication and leadership abilities.Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Ability to work with large datasetsAbility to work on initiative
