This role will directly report to the Accounting Manager and help on the transition, stabilization and transformation of general accounting processes in Manila. Continuous process improvement is an essential part of this role.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for Month-end closing activities including but not limited to preparation of complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reports and analysis.
Manages BS reconciliation activities such as recon assignments, required adjustment items and abnormal balances.
Perform Balance Sheet and P&L review and analysis. Provide commentaries and support explanations for BS and P&L fluxes related to reporting requirements.
Manages complex or high risk tasks and serves as the main back-up resource of the team.
Reviews and investigates process issues not limited to variances, system errors or other escalations.
Interacts with SMEs and Stakeholders involving matters between functional area for process alignment and standardization conducts regular call/ initiate email as applicable.
Set-Ups call/s or initiate email communication ensure proper coordination within the team.
Helps on the First Level Review and approval for month-end journals, reports and recons prepared by team members, as applicable.
Assists in the day to day operations in alignment with SLAs (SOD and EOD Queue Management, Handover, Recommendation of Manning/ Prod Planning, perform RCA and resolution for missed SLAs) within their scope.
Help ensure that all Service Level Agreement (SLAs) are met and delivered according to specified metrics.
Escalates Operations or Process issues to the Process Leads/ Manager for proper handling and alignment before escalating to the Stakeholders.
Coordinates and works with other cross-functional teams to understand end to end processes and help streamline processes. (E.g. AP, Procurement Ops)
Assists in training the new members of the team.
Assists with Internal & External audits by providing supporting records and documentation, as needed.
Evaluate accounting systems, policies and procedures, controls and reporting methods and leads in the development, modification and implementation with the end of standardizing, conforming to best practices and operating efficiency.
Shares Employee Performance feedback for peers for coaching and commendation purposes.
Lead the process improvement initiatives including completion of Playbooks and act as POC to coordinate Global Projects. Continuous improvement is an essential part of delivery management responsibilities.
Support and manage the team based on timezone support coverage.
May serve as an SME and first point of contact for a specific process group or expertise (E.g. Fixed Asset, Prepaids, Accruals, Cash Accounting, Revenue Accounting, Financial Reports, etc).
Handles tasks or projects delegated or assigned by the Process Lead and Manager.
Requirements:
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of an area of specialization and firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations
With a Bachelor's Degree in any Accounting/ Finance or related field.
With Minimum of 4-6 years related work experience and general knowledge in General Accounting/ Revenue Accounting & Financial Reporting.
CPA and Experience in a SAAS company is an advantage
Experience in Finance Shared Services set-up is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Willing to work on shifting schedules to accommodate different time zones per global business requirements during critical/ closing periods.
Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
With advanced MS Excel skills or a Macro expert preferred.
Pro-active individual who has the ability to work with a diverse team.
Working experience in systems like Netsuite, Blackline, Coupa is a plus.
