Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounts payable principles and procedures, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Requirements + Invoice Processing: Review and verify invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and adherence to company policies. + Accurately code invoices with the correct general ledger accounts. + Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents. + Process a high volume of invoices in a timely manner. + Identify and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders. + Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments through various methods (checks, ACH, wire transfers). + Ensure payments are made in accordance with vendor terms and discount opportunities. + Maintain accurate records of all payments and supporting documentation. + Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors. + Address vendor inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally. + Maintain accurate vendor records and contact information. + Reconciliations: Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy and identify any outstanding issues. + Reconcile accounts payable subledger to the general ledger. + Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline accounts payable processes. + Assist in the implementation of new technologies and systems. + Other: Assist with month-end closing procedures. + Prepare reports and analysis as needed. + Provide support to other members of the finance team. Qualifications: + Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume account's payable role.
